Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and CaseCompass (“CaseCompass,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and govern your access to and use of our website at casecompass.in and all related services, features, content, and applications (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for graduate (MBA/PGDM) students and other adults preparing for case interviews. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. The Service

CaseCompass provides AI-simulated case-interview practice, scoring and feedback, preparation resources, and a directory of case competitions. The AI interviewer and any scores, feedback, or recommendations are provided for educational purposes only, are generated automatically, and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are not professional, career, or placement advice, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome.

4. Accounts and security

  • Some features require an account, which you create by signing in with Google. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials and devices secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
  • You may not create an account for anyone else, maintain multiple accounts to manipulate rankings, or share your account.

5. Your content and licence

“User Content” means anything you submit to the Service, including profile details, messages to the AI interviewer, and any reviews, interview experiences, competition submissions, or other materials you may post through current or future features.

  • Ownership. You retain ownership of your User Content.
  • Licence to us. You grant CaseCompass a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, and display your User Content for the purpose of operating, improving, securing, and promoting the Service. This licence ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, except for content already shared with others, retained in backups, or required for legal compliance.
  • Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that you have all rights necessary to submit it and to grant the licence above.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to attempt to:

  • Post or submit content that you do not own or have permission to use, or that infringes any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property or proprietary right.
  • Submit false, misleading, fabricated, or fraudulent information, including fake or inaccurate interview experiences, reviews, or competition details.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity, affiliation, school, or ranking.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access, copy, or harvest cases, transcripts, or other content, or to circumvent rate limits or security.
  • Use the AI interviewer to generate content unrelated to case practice, or any unlawful, harmful, hateful, harassing, or abusive content.
  • Resell, sublicense, white-label, or commercially exploit the Service or republish the case library without our written permission.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, or harm other users, or violate their privacy.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the integrity or security of the Service.

We may remove content or restrict access that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, and we may report unlawful activity to the authorities.

7. Our intellectual property and case materials

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and original content, is owned by CaseCompass or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for your User Content and rights expressly granted here, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial study. The cases are adapted from publicly available casebooks published by consulting clubs at business schools and are offered for educational use. If you are a rights holder and believe content should be removed, email us under Section 13 and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it promptly (typically within 7 days).

8. Fees, payments, and refunds

The Service is currently offered free of charge. If we introduce paid features, subscriptions, or competition-hosting fees in the future, the applicable price, billing terms, and refund policy will be presented to you before you purchase, and your purchase will be subject to those terms. Unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated at the point of sale, fees are non-refundable. We may change pricing prospectively on notice.

9. Third-party services and links

The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, authentication, hosting, AI inference, analytics, and email) and may link to third-party websites, including competition organisers’ pages. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services or content, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate or reliable. You use the Service at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CaseCompass and its founders, employees, and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or placement or career outcomes, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if advised of the possibility. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim or INR 5,000 (or its equivalent).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CaseCompass and its founders, employees, and providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time (see the contact in our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or others. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5–7 and 10–15) will survive.

14. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. We may also update these Terms; if changes are material, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide notice on the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to applicable law, the courts located in India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

16. Miscellaneous

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
