Hosting a case competition, start to finish
Five minutes to set up, free forever. Here's the whole lifecycle.
1 · Create your competition
Open the hosting form and fill in the essentials — name, organizer, description, and your registration deadline. Everything else (rounds, prizes, eligibility, team sizes) is optional and can be tucked in under "More details". You can fill the whole form before signing in; we save your draft through the login step.
2 · Add your banner and logo
Upload a banner at 1600×840 px (1.91:1 ratio) — that exact shape also powers your WhatsApp/LinkedIn share preview, so one image works everywhere. Keep it under 2 MB (JPG, PNG, SVG or WebP). The logo should be square, 512×512 px or larger. Pages with a banner get dramatically more clicks than text-only listings.
3 · Submit for review
New competitions go through a quick human review before listing publicly (usually same day). You get your organizer dashboard immediately — the public page appears once approved. This review is what keeps the directory spam-free and worth students' trust.
4 · Going live & sharing
Once approved, your competition appears in the directory and gets its own page at casecompass.in/competitions/your-slug. Share that link in your college groups — students register right on the page, solo or as teams (a team leader registers first and gets an invite code teammates use to join).
5 · Check registrations
Your dashboard (Host → Your competitions → open one) shows every registrant live: name, email, phone, college, course, graduation year and team. Hit "Download CSV" any time for the full list — no limits, no fees, it's your data.
6 · Collect & review submissions
Participants upload PDF or PPT decks (up to 20 MB) or drop a Google Drive / YouTube link for video rounds, straight on your competition page. They can re-submit until your submission deadline; you always see the latest version. The Submissions tab on your dashboard lists every entry with a download link.
7 · Send updates to participants
Use "Notify participants" on your dashboard to email every registrant at once — case releases, deadline changes, shortlists, finale logistics. Each person gets an individual email (no exposed CC lists). If email sending is ever unavailable, download the CSV and BCC the list from your club account instead.

Things organizers wish they'd known
- Set the registration deadline a few days before your Round-1 deadline — late-joiner questions spike in the final 48 hours.
- Write the description for a student skimming on a phone: what the problem is, who can enter, what they can win, in the first two lines.
- If your competition is open to only specific campuses, list them — "colleges allowed" renders as eligibility chips on your page and saves you a hundred DMs.
- Cap team size honestly. If judging favours teams of 3, don't allow 5.
- Announce results through "Notify participants" — it reaches everyone who registered, not just the ones still checking the group chat.
